Palm Springs
Basking in the heat of the California desert lies one of America's most magical gay and lesbian vacation destinations.

Well, Palm Springs ain't nowhere as hot as hell, and hell is where gay people end up. What does the bible say about being gay? Homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9). God does not create a person with homosexual desires. Ultimately, a person chooses homosexuality and therefore is choosing sin.

Homosexuality, along with every other sin, is forgivable for the asking. Jesus died on the cross for all sinners; the angry, the murderers, the hypocrites, the slanderers, the sexual sinners ... all of us, and no one sin is 'better' or 'worse' than any other. God loves all His children and He wants none to perish. He made a way for us to reach Him: Jesus. But one has to ask, and after the asking, allow the Holy Spirit to help a person overcome persistent sin.

The bible tells us that in the end time, there will be rampant homosexuality. "As it was in the days of Lot, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man" Luke 17:28-30 ""It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. "It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed."

Jesus gave signs to watch for to determine if His coming again was near. One of those signs was that the culture would be acting as they were in the days of Lot, who lived at Sodom near Gomorrah. Rampant homosexuality was the rule of the day then and it is clear it is the rule now. The people were either unaware or did not care, that their lifestyle was abhorrent in the eyes of God. They went about as if perversity was normal and normalcy was perverse. Soon fire and brimstone rained down and smote them all, and so shall it be when Jesus comes again.

In our culture today we have gay lifestyles everywhere. It is promoted as an advertising segment and touted as tourism spots. It is in the highest places in government and church, and the lowest, such as alleys and bathroom stalls. Christians, resist the gay pervasive creep of normalcy into our culture. Pray for these sinners (as well as all sinners) to come to full and forgiving relationship with Jesus.

Before it is too late.

  1. I'm sorry but I just cannot understand all the fuss over gay stuff. Two adults in love, minding their own business and paying their taxes, just is NOT the major issue the church makes it out to be. There are hugely more important moral crises that we should be turning our attention to; crises that actually affect lives, health, hunger, oppression.

Most of us believe that gay marriage is something that will be the law of the land soon anyway, so why waste so much time and energy and money to fight it? We can be principled and hold to our beliefs, but not to the point of passing laws against a specific group of our fellow Americans.

Please Christians, let's choose our battles wisely.

  2. Jim,

You may take issue with the church having a stance against homosexuality, but when you have such issues you are going against the stance that God Himself holds. This is from the Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry:

"There are those who like to say that the Bible does not condemn homosexuality. Various verses are cited (out of context) and the verses that people use to show that homosexuality is wrong are explained away. The world wants to change God's words and meanings into something more suitable to its sinful desires. Nevertheless, the truth stands: The Bible condemns homosexuality as a sin. Let's look at what it says.

Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."1
Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them"
1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
Rom. 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper."
Homosexuality is clearly condemned by the Bible. It goes against the created order of God. He created Adam and then made a woman. This is what God has ordained and it is what is right. Unlike other sins, homosexuality has a severe judgment administered by God Himself. This judgment is simple: They are given over to their passions. That means that their hearts are allowed to be hardened by their sins (Romans 1:18ff). As a result, they can no longer see the error of what they are doing. Without an awareness of their sinfulness, there will be no repentance and trusting in Jesus. Without Jesus, they will have no forgiveness. Without forgiveness, there is no salvation."

Yes, let us choose our battles wisely. Maintain the Gospel and all that standards that God has set before us, including condemning homosexuality as a sin.
