The gulf widens

There are two scriptures regarding the end times which are polar opposites of each other. How can this be?

1. Luke 17:26-27: Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.

The bible says that in the end, things will SEEM normal, and LOOK normal and people will be doing normal things, unaware of the doom about to overtake them.

Yet their blindness need not be so. Jesus gave a long discourse on the realities of what will occur, and He even told us what to look for.

As He sat on The Mount Of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign of Your coming and of the close of the age?" And Jesus answered them, "Take heed that no one leads you astray. For many will come in My Name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not alarmed; for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places: all this is but the beginning of the birth-pangs." (Matthew 24:3-8)

The schism between what some see clearly see and others see not at all is growing. The divide is widening: between believer and unbeliever, between those who see and those who don't, between those who fast and those who are eating and drinking, between those looking up and those looking down, between poor and rich, and of course, between good and evil. It is a result of God's lifting His hand of protection and increasingly leaving the sinful world to satan. In the very end, satan will have complete power over everyone and everything on the earth. (Rev 13)

Until His hand is completely lifted, though, the divide grows. There will come a time when those on the one side will not be able to reach those on the other. Which side are you on? There is time to call upon Jesus to save you from your sins and offer grace and forgiveness. At a certain time, that offer will expire...forever. Revelation 14:9-10. Don't wait!
